The inspiration behind making this scarf was from a striped scarf I happened across the Trenery website.
It’s original scarf is really just a basic scarf, that incorporates a simple 2 X 2 rib at the beginning, following on with stocking stitch that is striped, and ending again with a 2 X 2 rib.
This pattern really is a no brainer, but I thought I’d write it out for those newbies out there :) …
And this is my effort so far … Check my WIP on Ravelry …
- Colourmart Heavy DK yarn, Cashmerino Blend in Geranium (Coral Pink marl)
- Colourmart Heavy DK yarn, Cashmerino Blend in Beige n1 (Natural Ecru Tweed)
- Moda Vera Lace weight, Mohair Blend in Beige (Tan) – held together with the other Beige yarn.
- Colourmart Heavy DK yarn, Merino-Silk Blend in Navy (Navy Blue)

Yes … spinning has been lacking in my neck of the woods.
I’ve been thinking alot about it, but not doing awhole lot about it!! :/ …Woe is me …
So presently my lonesome wheel, feeling rejected, and currently very much idle and in desperate want of attention. For the moment there is some Ecru Cormo, that I got from my pledge to TON OF WOOL by Kylie Gusset on Pozible. I recieved 300gm of Ecru Cormo, about 19 microns … incredibly lush to spin! So I’ve got alittle way yet to go with that …
Wish me luck getting back on my wheel!

Five words, Baby Booties quick, easy and fun! YES!! All my favorite words … this had to be the perfect project for gifting a new born baby boy :)
These booties were fabulous! I knit them up in acouple of hours after watching the tutorial here.
I speak ziltch german, but was able to make out what was going on and what needed to be done … below is my interpretation of the knit portion of the pattern.
BYE-BYE BABY BOOTIE
Yarn | 1 Ball – Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino (50gm) :: Col | Light Blue :: Dye Lot | 204
Needles | 3.25mm (US 3)
CO 30 sts
Row 1-34: K30
Row 35: BO 16 sts, P14
Row 36: K14
Row 37: P14
Row 38: K14
Row 39: P14
Row 40-41: Rep Rows 37 & 38
Row 42-45: Rep rows 36 & 39
For my new born booties: I repeated Rows 40 to 45, 6 times. Now just to seam.
The end result should be a piece of fabric that looks like an “L” shape. A portion of the fabric would be in garter stitch. The garment portion after the bound off section, will look like a combination of stocking sts and garter stitch. And that’s all the knitting! Now just to sew it up and embellish as you like. Watch the seaming bootie video (in german) to get an idea about you need to do to sew up the seams. ALL DONE!
Glossary | BO – Bind Off; CO – Cast Off; K – Knit; P – Purl; Rep – Repeat

Ahhhh Joy! I finished a pair of vanilla socks a day or so ago, and I’m really enjoying lounging in them at home. They are really a quirky colour I think it has to be said that I myself would probably the only one that loves … :)
Acouple of weeks ago in my “Koigu Inspired Sockyarn :: Take 1” post I experimented with dyeing some sockyarn. I wanted something like koigu dyed yarn, I think I might have to keep experimenting though, but I’m happy with the result for my first attempt … YAY!
I love random spots of colour in yarn, for me it makes the knitting journey with random spots of colour, worth the while!
Needles | 2 X 2.5mm 16″ circulars
Gauge | 9 sts per 1 inch
Yarn | Spunkyarn Serena Sock :: 4ply sock yarn (4/16.8 nM) :: Colourway | Mauve ‘N’ Multi
Fiber | Wool 75% / Nylon 25%
Weight | 100gm :: Yardage | 450mtrs (430yds)
My Mods | CO 64sts :: Cuff |1” 2X2 Ribbing only :: Heel Flap | RS: Sl1, K1 Rep til end; WS: Sl1, Purl all sts :: Heel |Used a Dutch Heel :: Toe | Used a Pointed Toe; from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush. Next time for my sock toe, instead of decreasing using Sl1, K1 psso, I might use K2tog … :) … as I like the look of K2tog.
Personal Critisism | Possibly Cast On 2-4 sts too many, still fits fine, could be alittle more snug, altho no problems with the leg staying up.
