A friend is having a baby mid this year! So the natural thing for a knitter would be to knit acouple of small beanies and maybe a bootie or two … :) … right?!

The beanie above was adapted from Hineri Hat Pattern by Olga Buraya-Kefelian, Olga lists this pattern free on ravelry. I knit this with DK weight yarn, the pattern calls for 10ply yarn.

And it’s all very exciting!! Birth and new life is a sign of hope and an amazing miracle.

As a knitter I feel great joy when I can share my gifts of creating something out of mere string. For me it’s an act of caring. And I’m excited to knit for a little person that hasnt arrived yet!

Aside from the fact that small knits are instantly gratifying, small people are just so much fun to dress up :).
